The first deliberation by the jurors in the Bill Cosby sexual assault trial came back.. deadlocked. Meaning they couldn't come to a unanimous decision. That, after 4 days of talks.
The judge is now ordering them to try again. Doesn't seem like there is a limit to this back and forth. The jury could continue to claim they can't all agree, and the judge can continue to say 'try again'. Though I think after a time or two more, the judge will have to declare them a 'hung jury'. And in that scenario, it's up to the prosecutor to either start over with a brand new jury selection. Or drop charges.
I seriously doubt this case will simply be dropped. Way too high profile. But who knows? Also, the jurors could in theory come to an agreement, and still go either guilty, not guilty or mixed (because there are 3 charges of assault here against Cosby in this trial). Though you would think if they were all going to agree, it would have already happened by now.
How do you see this playing out?
