Being the Indian Jones fan-boy that I am, I couldn't help but speed along the announcement. Walt Disney Studios just announced today that there will be a a fifth installment in the Indiana Jones franchise. Harrison Ford will reprise the role of Indy. Steven Spielberg will also be returning to the set. Currently, additional cast members haven't been announced.

The project is currently untitled, and is set to hit the big screen on July 19, 2019.

Man, Harrison Ford is cleaning up in his old age. This and Star Wars; banking. I wasn't a fan of the first reprisal. Hopefully they have a better plot this time around.

Yes, please, but no aliens! I just wonder how they are going to spin the whole "passing of the whip" to his son thing. Are they still expecting Shia Labeouf to carry on the torch? I've heard nothing but rumors about who may take the role... cough Chris Pratt...cough. I agree though, it looks like Ford is doing one final pass-through.

You have to cut them some slack on the aliens. Ancient Aliens was big 7 years ago. All kidding aside, I hope this one is good. Dr. Jones made me want to be an archaeologist when I was a kid so I'm really hoping this one delivers.

The aliens aspect of the last film didn't really bother me. It's how poorly they injected the aliens into it. People like to say that aliens don't belong in an Indiana Jones film, but I don't really think that's true. It's an adventure film straight up and down. If they execute the aliens properly, it could be really cool.

Remember, we are talking about a film that's notorious for opening Pandora's box. Which made everyone's faces melt off and implode. Pandora's box is mythological. What happens when you open Pandora's box is myth. So to me, if the die hard fans of IJ can be pleased with them having such a far fetched scene as that, they should be OK with aliens. But like I said, it has to be tasteful and relate to the story better.
