When Miss West Virginia Madeline Collins was asked what she thinks is the most serious issue facing the nation, she responded:
"Donald Trump is the biggest issue our country faces. Unfortunately he has caused a lot of division in our country."
Since the onstage interview q&a was only allowed a 20 second answer without follow up, that's about all we heard. But still, she could have said anything and she went after Trump singularly.
Also interesting to note that Trump no longer owns the Miss America pageant, and the new owners decided to cut the swimsuit segment of the competition for this onstage interview segment instead.
So just kind of funny to think about the turn about here: if Trump didn't get elected, he would still be running this pageant (most likely) and (almost assuredly) the swimsuit segment would still be ongoing and therefore thoughts like this would have not been able to be heard. But since he became President, the swimsuits are gone and Trump is getting called out on the very stage he used to own. I think that's ironic??
