I've seen 7 of those.. this list maker must really think King and Nolan are overrated.. whatever. Making a top 250 all time movie list will always be very subjective. But I think the way IMDB does it, based off of tons of user ratings right?, is a pretty legit way to go about it. I don't think it's IMDB saying these are the top movies to them, am I right about that?
Anyways, scrolling through their top 250 list, here's a few that stand out to me as overrated:
#27: The Usual Suspects. I liked the film alright. But for a 1995 film, I honestly don't think it ages very well and once you know the twist, how rewatchable is it, really? Top 150-ish I'm ok with. But number 27 above Saving Private Ryan? C'mon now.
#57: Avengers: Infinity War. There's just too many greats below it for me. You have Dr. Strangelove and WALL-E just below it that should clearly be higher. I would probably put the marvel movie in the top 200, but not nearly that high.
So, I think this list has way more underrated top movies, looking at it:
#89 - 2001: A Space Odyssey (best sci fi film ever)
#90 - Toy Story (arguably best animated film ever)
#150 - The Wolf of Wall Street (watch it a 2nd time, this movie is greatness)
#183 - Jurassic Park (best monster movie ever)
All those should be WAY higher on the list.
