One of my favorite actors (if not most favorite), Leonardo DiCaprio has signed up to be the front man of 'The Crowded Room'. What's perfect about this role specifically for DiCaprio is that he will be portraying the story of Billy Milligan, the man with 24 different personalities. DiCaprio has been staying away from softer type roles like his porteyal of Jack from 'Titanic' since he realized that was makeing people view him as a Hollywood sweetheart. And not an actor with many faces.

No doubt he has continuously broke that mold with most of his work. Playing super gritty characters over the years. This film should show the extent of his talent with its synopsis. It's perfect. He'll get to show off every one of the personalities he has alreast done so well.

Probably my favorite too. Thanks for posting this. Haven't heard about this one, and I'm usually on top of what he has coming out. That's awesome. Just looked on YouTube for a trailer. Couldn't find one though. Any word on when they might release one, or when the film is scheduled to be filmed and released? This sounds like an epic chance for him to show off his range. Can't wait.

Not too much info on it right now. Here's an article that's just a little more in depth with who's involved in it so far. Along with a list and description of all the different personalities. There's some great ones too. I would say that hopefully this will be the film that finally gets him a Grammy. But who really cares. Everyone knows at this point there is an obvious snub for him specifically. There has to be some reason for that. He undoubtedly deserves it.

Fascinating stuff. Thanks for the post. Thought I would share part of that article, so people know what the will have in store for this movie. Here's a quote of explanation of Billy Milligan and his personalities, from the author of the book's official website:

Out of control of his own actions, Billy Milligan was a man tormented by twenty-four distinct personalities battling for supremacy over his body — a battle that culminated when he awoke in jail, arrested for the kidnap and rape of three women. In a landmark trial, Billy was acquitted of his crimes by reason of insanity caused by multiple personality — the first such decision in history — bringing to public light the most remarkable and harrowing case of multiple personality ever recorded.

Twenty-four people live inside Billy Milligan.

Philip, a petty criminal; Kevin, who dealt drugs and masterminded a drugstore robbery; April whose only ambition was to kill Billy’s stepfather; Adalana, the shy, lonely, affection-starved lesbian who “used” Billy’s body in the rapes that led to his arrest; David, the eight-year-old “keeper of pain”; Arthur, the Englishman; Ragen, the “keeper of Rage” who possessed incredible strength; Allen, the con man; Tommy, the escape-artist, and all of the others, including men, women, several children, both boys and girls, and the Teacher, the only one who can put them all together. Each of these “people” play a distinct role in this often shocking true story.

I wonder if they will have all 24 in the film?

Looks like Syamalan got a hold of this story, and it'll be James McAvoy over Leo. I think it's the same story anyways? For all the flops of M. Night, and that's most of his films after Sixth Sense, I am still wanting to see this. Check it out:

Oh yeah, I'm still really excited for it. James McAvoy is a great actor and looks like he can pull this off too. Plus, Decaprio has H.H. Holmes coming out....whenever. That's going to be nuts.
