The Critics Choice Awards winners have been announced and I have a few things I want to say. First of all, it was actually a pretty decent year as far as winners go. I don't have too many issues with who won what. That's a pretty big deal to me, considering award shows lately have been almost unbearable to watch.. But this one wasn't too bad.
The entire list would be way to long to list here, but you can check out the full list here if you want to. I'm just going to stick with the ones I agree with/disagree with the most.
First of all, 'Mank' absolutely killed it with 12 nominations including Best Director, Best Picture, Best Actor- Gary Oldman and Best Supporting Actress- Amanda Seyfried. If you haven't seen it yet, do yourself the favor.
'The Crown' and 'Ozark' dominated TV series with 6 nominations per. I can't speak for The Crown, but Ozark absolutely deserves it.
'Nomadland' ended up taking Best Picture and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I haven't seen the movie just yet so can't say anything bad, but it was up against some heavy hitters. I'll be watching it asap.
Best actor went to to Chadwick Boseman for 'Ma Rainey's Black Bottom'. Again, I haven't seen this one yet either.
One of the one's I agree with the most out of the entire show was Best Acting Ensemble. This one went to 'The Trial of the Chicago 7'. That was an excellent film and most definitely deserves the ensemble award. Everyone worked together so well in that movie.
Did anyone see anything that stood out to them as deserving or not deserving this year?
