The pilot has wrapped filming! From the creative mind of Kurt Sutter comes, 'The Bastard Executioner'. Oh man am I excited. Sutter jumped right from wrapping the ending of another one of my favorite shows, 'Sons of Anarchy', to this new project. I wasn't expecting it to hit the screen so soon though. I figured this would be one of the things that build tons of hype but either take forever to produce, or never make it at all.

This story is a medieval drama. It follows a knight with severe PTSD after being dragged through more bloody wars than a person ever should. After which, he vows to never raise his sword to hurt another human again. Although he has vowed against it, the violence finds a way to make him an executioner.

Sutter has said this show will have a sort of SOA feel to it in the way it was filmed. I'm all for that! He also tweeted a picture of swords drenched in blood stating, "I think you already know this... There will be blood". Along with that he tweeted a few other very vague teaser pictures.

I can only hope that this show is nearly as good as SOA was. The way Sutter was able to keep a story in line with that many twists and turns was impressive. I'm quite anxious to see what the general vibe to this show is. Will it be like Game of Thrones? More like SOA?

Hoping for a combination of both. I'm curious how much of a budget Sutter will get on FX though. That is where it will air right? If so, there's just no way it can be on the same epic level as GOT. If they scale down and focus on just a few settings, with great dialogue like he's really good at, and it might not matter.
