Olivia Munn has been cast as Psylocke for the upcoming X-men Apocalypse movie and I'm not really sure what to think about it. I hated Munn on Attack of the Show. I always viewed her as a talentless, attention-needing, airhead, bubbly, hot girl, that was only picked for her looks. Then, she went on the Daily Show and it was even worse.

But then she co-starred in The Newsroom as Sloan Sabbath and I have to admit she was pretty amazing. She played the role perfectly. The performance Intellectual, savvy, natural and flowed extremely well with the show. It was was extremely impressed.

So I'm genuinely curious how this will play out. How well can Munn do a British accent? Or will Psylocke's British origins be dropped altogether? On top of that, I wonder what Fox plans to do with the character. Will she actually have a role or will it be just for sex appeal?

I vaguely remember Munn from Attack of the Show. I liked her then, but that show always got on my nerves. So I didn't watch it too much. But I completely agree with you about Munn on The Newsroom. She was one of my favorite characters on there. Hard to think someone can play such a smart and interesting character, and not be smart and interesting themselves. I think her reputation beforehand that you speak of had more to do with her career choices, more so than her intellect.

Anyways, I'm interested to see what she can do with the character. I know she is a "super-geek", so it makes sense.

Yea, I am too. I think she will fit the role perfectly.

I do need to get caught up on my X-Men movies though. I haven't watched Wolverine or Days of Future Past yet, so it would probably be smart for me to rent those before watching this new one!

Skip Wolverine. But definitely pick up Days of Future Past. That one was pretty great; one of my favorite super hero films to date.
