Something new this year: the Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular show will be hosted in 2 different New York locations for the first time. They plan to use 50,000 pyrotechnic shells in total, to put on a show that should last around 25 minutes.

Dierks Bentley, Kelly Clarkson, Brad Paisley, Flo Rida, and Meghan Trainor will also perform during the televised broadcast, which starts at 8pm EST, and runs until 10pm EST on NBC (on the 4th of July, of course).

If country or rap/hip-hop isn't your scene, I recommend at least tuning in for the fireworks display, if you're looking for a good live show. New York knows how to invest in an awesome mountain of different explosives, so it really should be something worth watching.

Of note, new to the pyro scene this year are 'roaring dragons', 'transformation ghosts', 'crescent moons', 'screaming banshees', and something called 'spiderweb-shaped shells'. Should make for a good show. If I can track it down after it airs on Youtube, I'll try and upload (at least some highlights) here.

That is one hell of an interesting lineup. I can't say I like any one of them, but talk about having a concert that represents the exact opposite ends of the spectrum!
